Sustainability is integrated into our day-to-day business processes
FVS reduces its environmental footprint through increased energy efficiency, lean business processes, reduced resource consumption, and elimination of waste.
Putting waste in the right place
As part of our recycling plan, we have diverted 33 tonnes of waste away from landfills in the last 3 months. We are on track to smash our target of 15% general waste reduction by 2023
Recycling stations are located throughout our offices and include paper, bottles, cans, general waste, and food waste bins located in lunch rooms, under each desk, and various other locations throughout our offices.

We’re Down for Recycling
FVS recycles all types of batteries to safely recover mercury, lead, silver, nickel, cadmium, steel, and plastic.
Before batteries can be directed to the correct recycling stream they need to be sorted. Ecobatt has state-of-the-art sorting systems to automate this process. Computer-controlled sorting machines separate batteries according to both size and chemistry, and do so far more quickly, accurately, and efficiently than manual sorting.
Ecobatt makes battery recycling easy ensuring we meet our ISO 14001 goals.
Australians drain the life from more than 400 million batteries each year. Less than 5% are recycled, and our consumption of batteries is increasing year to year.
When dumped in landfills, batteries can leak a range of toxic substances, including lead, mercury, and cadmium, into the environment.

We have implemented numerous strategies to drive behaviour change and initiatives to help us achieve superstar status. Energy and Waste are two key areas of focus. Lighting efficiency upgrades, correct waste separation and recycling, and process improvements such as an efficient driving program.
